3 Reasons to Write About What You Are Passionate About
This article is mainly focused on people who start or want to start a blog or website and take advantage of it by doing what they really like.
If we have experience in Affiliate Marketing or making websites designed for Adsense we may be able to make money with almost any market, but not everyone enjoys doing it.
There is a mistake that many of us make and I include myself in ever having done it, the mistake is trying to write about things that you are not passionate about with the sole purpose of making money on the Internet.
I am not saying that it is impossible, but that it is much easier to lose interest in our site or blog and it is also very likely that we do not have the slightest intention of talking with our audience.
Here are 3 reasons why we should write about what we are really passionate about:
1) We know the market and the audience.
When you launch a project about something that you are really passionate about, it is much easier to stay up-to-date on the subject, read the latest news for pleasure and draw conclusions that make a contribution with real value for the public.
Several times it happened to me that trying to write about topics that do not interest me, I was unable to establish good contact with users, nor did I manage to satisfy their needsIf we do not know our audience, we will hardly do anything with it.
Of course, nothing prevents us from knowing a market or establishing a close relationship with an audience in which we have no interest beyond the commercial one, but it is not as bearable as when that market and that audience really excite us.
2) We can create the right content
When we have a site or blog just for money it is practically impossible for us to enjoy creating content, be it text, ebooks, audio or video ... And when we start, we will most likely dedicate most of our efforts to that without receiving anything in return.
A very common mistake among beginners is to have tremendous despair looking at the results of Google Analytics and Adsense to see that things are not as easy as you thought.
Thus, the burden of creating content with a certain frequency becomes heavier and heavier by not seeing that effort "magically" become money, which leads to that project dying quickly.
We can always hire an expert on the subject to create the content for us, but this is not recommended unless we have a good monetization and promotion plan for the content we send to create.
What's more nobody is better than ourselves to give our personal touch 😉
3) We don't need thousands of visits to make money.
Unless the only monetization method we have is advertising, it is a lie to say that we need thousands of users to be able to make money with our web project.
I put the case of Rusty Moore, a friend I made in an online Internet Marketing course, his blog is this: Fitness Black Book.
He is a true personal trainer who writes about weight loss, gives advice on toning and everything that has to do with his market, as you can see on his blog there is no single Adsense banner, he makes his money promoting his own product (which is nothing more than an ebook) and from time to time promoting other people's products in exchange for a commission per sale.
I don't know if he uses other types of monetization, but putting myself in his place I would try to sell online talks, charge for follow-up and personalized advice via email, give offline advice to my local readers, etc. and thus a whole range of possibilities opens up.
Not all activities that generate money thanks to our blog have to be online, if we have a local audience there are many ways to make offline profits that can be attributed to our blog.
For certain types of monetization, 200 or 300 well-made connections with people who have a great interest in the subject we talk about are worth much more than 1000 fleeting visits every day.
Again, to access these possibilities we must know what we are talking about, our knowledge must be real and not a mere copy of what we read in other places.
If we have knowledge that it can answer a question, then we can make money from it and the Internet is a good way to raise your hand and say, "I have the answer."
