Google Adwords: Broad Match Modifier

A few days ago a new type of match was announced with Google Adwords, it is a modification to the broad match type that allows us to be more specific, it is currently being tested in England and Canada.

How does the Broad Match Modifier work?

We simply have to put a symbol "+" in front of the broad match keyword that we want to modify, this allows that keyword to be able to come up with synonyms, acronyms, abbreviations and frequent typos, in some cases it can save us having to create dozens of adgroups!

Below I show you the example proposed in the official Adwords blog on how this new type of match affects:

Also according to the official Adwords blog, advertisers who advertise using phrase or exact match and tested the broad match modifier find that their campaigns convert better, since they have a greater range of exposure but without being as imprecise as using broad match.

Hopefully soon we can use the Broad Match Modifier in our campaigns in Spanish, it all depends on the feedback that Google people receive about it.

Personally, I am very excited about this new type of concordance and I will be testing it in some campaigns that I have across the pond, if it works well I will be the first to place the order in Google Argentina hehe

Do you have any experiences that you can share with this new type of concordance?
