Add links to your LinkedIn stories with the "swipe" option

LinkedIn Stories have the ability to link to another website with the swipe feature, which works in a similar way to the Instagram Stories option.

This means that eligible users will be able to connect a link of their choice, creating a new opportunity to drive traffic to your business page.

Here I show you a little more about how it works and who can use the links in LinkedIn stories.

How to use the swipe feature on LinkedIn stories

For many companies, LinkedIn can be an excellent tool for getting potential clients. It is for this reason that the stories released by the professional network at the end of 2020 are an excellent way to boost traffic to your website.

Whether you have a job offer, a blog post, your website, or anything else, you can better capture the attention of your audience.

Here are the steps to create a link from a story on LinkedIn:

  • Start creating a story by adding a photo or video.
  • Click the icon at the top of the screen on the link icon (which looks like a string)
  • Add the URL in the "Add a link" section
  • Select the button with the appropriate call to action.
  • Click "finish"
  • Click on "share your story"

In order for your users to go to the correct page, you have the option to preview the link before it is public.

You can also create LinkedIn stories from the application where you can use the camera from the app or upload an image from your image library.

Like other social media apps, stories stay active for 24 hours and video content is limited to 20 seconds.

Who can use the links in their stories

Link building is available for all LinkedIn pages. This functionality is available to all users of the platform as long as they meet the following criteria:

  • Have at least 5000 connections or followers.
  • Have the follow button as the main call to action on your profile, instead of the connect button.

Changing the call-to-action button on a LinkedIn profile can be done in the privacy section of settings. .

Conclution

Using this new tool allows you to derive new traffic to your website, which when coming from a network like LinkedIn can generate a great movement in your conversions or in the image of your company.

Keep in mind that to use this tool you must have at least 5,000 contacts, while on Instagram you must have 10,000 followers. This requirement makes it much easier for users to meet the criteria for using this feature.

Finally, it is proven that for LinkedIn it is important not to be left behind in the use of stories, since users have shown their interest in this content format. I recommend that you also do the same and join this wave and thus take advantage of all the potential that this tool can give you.
