Know how fast your website is on mobile phones

Your mobile website is the most “close at hand” point of contact that potential consumers have access to to get to know your brand or business. For this reason, the loading speed of your site can be the difference between generating a good or bad first impression, which will eventually be decisive in obtaining sales.

An example of this is in the case of ecommerce platforms, where in their mobile version a delay of one second in the loading times of a page can mean a decrease of up to 20% in conversions[1].

For this reason and in order that you can improve the speed of your site, I share the Google meter, Test My Site, where you can evaluate the time it takes to load your page in its mobile version. Here you can do the following:

  • Check your website speed: This action will allow you to measure the loading time of a certain page in its mobile version. Simply place the domain or URL in question in the requested field and in just a few seconds the tool will show you the level of efficiency of your page. It will also mark you if the speed is low, if it is within the average or if it is fast compared to the rest of the web pages.

  • Track your progress: In this step you will be able to check the speed trend of your mobile website month by month and therefore evaluate its progress. The tool will offer you this information by default, even if you don't want to generate a formal report.

  • Do a competition survey: In this step you will be able to compare the speed of your website with that of your competitors. As with your page, you must enter the domain of that web address with which you want to make the comparison and thus you will instantly obtain the time of both when loading.

  • Estimate the impact of speed on your business: This step will allow you to study how the loading speed of your site can impact your income based on information about your business. For this, you must complete the fields: Average visits, conversion rate and average ticket.

In addition, this option will evaluate the speed of certain pages in which you consider more important to have quick access.

  • Generate your report: In this step you will be able to obtain intelligent information that allows you and your team to take action. This report will contain data only from those fields that you have completed and will provide you with steps to follow directly in your email box.

Remember that every effort counts when it comes to attracting and retaining your customers. So I hope this article is useful to you and that with this tool you can evaluate and improve the performance of all your pages.
