Matt Cutts: Redirecting users by geographic location is not SPAM

Matt Cutts posted a very good video yesterday answering the question of whether redirecting users by geographic location is not considered SPAM.

For example, if a user with an IP from France or Germany visits our website, there is no problem to redirect him to the section of the site in the language corresponding to the user or even redirect him to the domain of the business corresponding to his country.

However, there could be problems if the search engine is treated differently from the user. In the case of geo-location redirection technology, this redirection should also be applied to bots from Google and other search engines.
