Adwords: Keyword Combination Tool
There are a variety of tools available that allow us to save a lot of time in the creation of our keyword list, some are free and others are paid.
A free tool that I use when I need to combine keyword lists is Keyword lizardWhile it is a fairly simple tool, it is quite flexible and does its job well.
How is Keyword Lizard used?
The use is quite simple, so with an example it should be more than clear.
Suppose we sell a list of 20 items on an e-commerce site, which we distribute to 30 cities. In practice, there should be no major inconvenience to creating campaigns and ad groups for the most generic keywords, but it is always good to be able to take advantage of as much long-tail traffic as possible.
The only thing we have to do with the Keyword Lizard is to insert the keywords by columns, in this case the first column will contain the word «buy», the second column will contain the list of products and the last column has words of the type «en + name town".
Then we can choose the type of combination we need (all possible combinations or AB and C), we can also refine the final list by excluding repetitions, selecting the type of match we want for the keywords, etc.
In this particular case I only select the second combination option without any other optional functions and "Start the lizard!"
If this is the first time that we use the tool, you will be required to subscribe to the newsletter, in my experience Keyword Lizard does not bombard with spam, so the subscription is not painful at all.
Voila! we generate 581 keywords in less than 1 minute!
We click «Click Here» (forgive the redundancy) and we access our list of keywords, the format is quite simple but it does its job well.
Now we just need to refine our list a bit, eliminating very generic words such as "buy" and in the event that we do not sell certain products in some cities we must also eliminate those keywords.
While we have the keyword list, that's only half the work, we now need to proceed to group the keywords into ad groups as granularly as possible, but that's a topic for another article.
What tools do you use to combine keywords? 😉
