Google Adwords: Improved Sitelinks
Ad extensions are a very useful tool to provide extra information and highlight our ads over the competition.
I particularly like Site Links or «Sitelinks», which allow us to show up to 4 extra links below our Adwords ad, as long as it has a good Quality Score and is among the first 3 outstanding positions. above organic results.
Sitelinks serve to considerably raise the CTR and provide different destination URLs, so that the user can choose the URL that they consider to be of most interest.
Yesterday in the Adwords official blog a new experiment that Google is carrying out to continue improving Sitelinks was unveiled.
The new feature is called "Enhanced Sitelinks" and it is intended to further highlight Sitelinks that are truly relevant and useful to users.
The following example is shown on the official Adwords blog:
Suppose we have an advertisement for a pizzeria that uses the following Sitelinks:
Similarly, in our Adwords account we have the following text ads:
With the new Enhanced Sitelinks feature, our ads would look like this:
In order for Enhanced Sitelinks to be displayed, it is necessary to have ads closely related to the sitelinks that we use in the campaign in our account, otherwise we will only show normal Sitelinks.
In the tests of the Enhanced Sitelinks it was found that these were found to be more useful and relevant by the users and that consequently, the CTRs obtained were also higher than with normal Sitelinks.
According to the official Adwords blog, this new feature is in the testing phase and it is not specified when it will be available to all users.
Without a doubt I will do a few tests as soon as the Enhanced Sitelinks are available to all users 😉
