How to Learn Google Adwords

Several readers often ask me what is the best way or the best course to be a "Google Adwords Expert", the answer is always the same: That does not exist.

As the word itself indicates, "expert" comes from experience and is what is required to improve in any aspect of life.

To really learn how to use Google Adwords, there is no better way than to jump into the pool and learn to swim, perhaps at first we are not exactly Olympic swimmers but little by little the technique is polishing as we face real situations.

I am not saying that they do not take courses or advice, in fact I think they are fundamental when one starts but it is important to avoid the mistake of going deeply into theory without accompanying real practices.

How to Learn Google Adwords

It is common not to know where to start when one tries to learn something new and we cannot set pharaoh goals as beginners, so here are my tips on how to start learning:

1) Can you offer your services or products through Google Adwords? Do you know a family member or friend who could benefit from a campaign?

Ideally, these products or services should have a good profit margin, since having very tight margins when we are beginners can mean losing money.

2) Now that you have an idea for your first campaign we need a page where to derive all the traffic, it is not necessary to spend fortunes on this if you are just looking for a test campaign, even a simple blog in wordpress with contact information and information about the services / products should be enough to practice.

There are countless tutorials in both English and Spanish on how to create blogs with WordPress in your own domains, just do a couple of searches on Google.

3) At this point, it would be ideal to follow some type of course or advice to learn basic skills in creating and managing campaigns, reporting, using different tools, etc.

Above all, it is important to have the advice and guidance of people with more experience, this can save you more than a headache.

4) Time to apply what we have learned, make decisions about the different aspects of the campaign, interpret data and improve our skills in general.

The more campaigns we can manage, with different types of objectives, in different markets, different countries, etc. We will gain more experience in how to manage and optimize Adwords accounts.

And how did you get started with Google Adwords? 😉
