How to use Adwords to Promote Android and iOS Apps

If you dedicate yourself or plan to dedicate yourself to developing applications for Android or iOS (iPhone, iPad, iPod, etc.), it is very likely that at some point you have encountered the following fundamental philosophical question:

How! # @ $ make more people download my apps?!?

For some time now, Google Adwords offers not only to be able to show ads to mobile devices, but we can choose the operating system and even the mobile phone operator to which we want to target the ads.

The ads that direct to application downloads are automatically only shown on devices that support that application, in this way one avoids that by some error the ad of your Android application has been showing on iOS devices.

Another interesting point is that Ads show a "Download" link instead of a URL in the Visible URL field, making them much more attractive to app users.

To achieve this simply include 'itunes.apple.com/' or 'market.android.com/' followed by the name of the application and the system will automatically display 'Download iPhone App' or 'Download Android App.'

Great, this is what I need! But how do I configure my Adwords campaigns to only show on certain mobile devices?

Setting up a campaign for specific mobile devices is VERY simple, simply go to the "Settings" tab, go down to the "Networks and Devices" option, under "Devices" choose "I want to select them myself ..." and select the following options:

Once these settings are saved, our ads will only show for devices with the chosen operating system.

And what experience do you have promoting apps with Google Adwords? 😉
