Misinterpreting Social Networks
Today thanks to Twitter I received this news that talks about the pope invites people to spread the "word" on social media on the Internet, you can see the entire article here: The Pope wants to bring "the Word of God" to Web 2.0
There would be nothing strange or bad if you encouraged the use of these means to simplify costs and streamline communication between the different organizations that make up your Church.
The problem comes where it says: "Also to those who do not believe"... that ladies and gentlemen is what we call SPAM, that is, a message advertising something to those who are not interested or ask to receive it.
This misinterpretation of social networks bothers me as a professional, since they are an excellent way to find people with the same interests than us and to be able to communicate with them massively and economically in real time ... not to offer them services or products that they do not want.
If a person creates an account for talk about the virtues of soccer team "A" among people who are fans of soccer team "B" I think the slightest thing that could happen is that the spammer is ignored and his account deleted by an administrator.
Purposely searching for people who are not interested in what you have to offer instantly turns you into a spammer.
As a professional, the vision that people in my profession have bothers me since it seems that the function of Online Marketing is reduced to annoying people, when in reality it is about showing information about a product / service to the user at the precise moment where you are interested in what I have to offer.
The key is to be friendly and dialogue with our audience, not to monologue with audiences from another niche.
