Google seeks to optimize its SERPs with the new text «Ads related to»
A few days ago Google has introduced a new text in its result pages, a message called «Ads related to» which can be seen above the main Adwords ad unit.
This new text is followed by the user's search query highlighted in bold.
According Search Engine Land, a Google spokesperson explained that this change is part of Google's effort to display ads that are increasingly relevant to user searches, this change seeks to inform users why they are seeing ads between Google's results pages.
Below we can see an example:
Clearly this new change in the results page is also aimed at increasing the CTR of the Adwords ads and is surely part of an optimization test of your results pages.
If this change, by providing a little information about why the ads are showing, convinces an extra percentage of users to click on the ads, Google's revenue could increase considerably with the same amount of current traffic.
This shows us that there is always room to continue optimizing our pages even if it seems that there is nothing to do and that many times it is enough to make seemingly small changes to achieve better results.
If you have campaigns that show ads in the top ranks, stay tuned to see if your CTR improves thanks to this new text.
